Hey just thought id add my name to the millions who have thus far bowed down to your feet. great job for creating the best online repository of fantasy art and writings on the web. The one thing i am impressed about is elfwood began in 1996 and i aparantly joined in 1970, 18 years before i was born, how cool is that 1 anyway keep up the good work!

:-) Thomas F Abrahamsson replies: "1970 is the default value in many computer system for a time stamp that is unset, i.e. zero. The reason is that many computers count seconds from the 1st of january in an integer number as the time stamp. Have a guess what will happen in 2038 12 "

Hey...I guess your Patron feature is pretty popular but I noticed one bugger about it: whenever I add a Patron’s picture to a Guided Tour, the Guided Tour in the Extranet seems to think it’s an error (gets a "not an Elfwood main site URL" error). I think you’ll make a lot of Patrons happy if you fix that.

so thomas, i have another question for you; how did you make elfwood.com? i’m asking because i want to make a website of my own, but i REALLY don’t know how. i don’t even know what program i’m supposed to use! can you please help me out here, thomas? thanks. 2

:-) Thomas F Abrahamsson replies: "Hi, that is a much too complex question to answer simply. Elfwood is complex and consists of hundred thousand lines of source code written mostly in pike/roxen. However, I would recommend that you buy some beginners books in PHP/MySQL and start reading. "
